2010 Events & People

Grow. Connect. Engage. More than 50 program offerings provide the info and tools you need. With 356 attendees in 2009 (a 35% increase over 2008) and perhaps even more in 2010, you can network with the leading people in the cohousing movement. These leaders have created one or more cohousing communities, have written books, have conducted research, offer cohousing goods and services, and are the people who are most willing and able to help you succeed.

Grow your knowledge.

  • Go on an educational community tour (Wednesday, June 16; Thursday, June 17; or Friday, June 18).
  • Enroll in Coho U (Wednesday, June 16, and Thursday, June 17).
  • Learn with the leaders of the cohousing movement, including the main conference’s featured speakers:
    • Opening Session: Friday, June 18, 8:30am – author and community organizer Dave Wann
    • Keynote Address: Friday, June 18, 8:00pm – author and activist Bill McKibben
    • Closing Session: Sunday, June 20, 1:00pm – cohousing leaders and authors Charles Durrett and Kathryn McCamant.
  • Choose the “break-out” sessions that target your particular cohousing concerns (Friday, June 18, through Sunday, June 20).
  • See new films – for free! – about cohousing, community, and sustainability (Wednesday, June 16, and throughout the main conference, Friday, June 18, through Sunday, June 20).

Connect with other cohousing activists.

Engage with the cohousing movement.

  • Become an integral part of the cohousing movement. Find out why many return to the conference year after year – and learn how you can help create a better world one neighborhood at a time.
  • Join us Saturday morning for the opportunity to meet, mix, and network in the exhibit area. This is a great way to determine with whom you’ll want to follow up over the next two days. Find the partners with whom you are going to take cohousing action!
  • Eat, drink, dance, and help raise funds for the cohousing movement at the Saturday night fundraising banquet. Network – and have fun! – with others who are actively engaged with the cohousing movement.
