How can I participate more deeply in the conference by volunteering before or during the event?

  • Raffle Ticket sales - Raise enthusiasm for the purchase of raffle tickets during the conference, the proceeds of which benefit CohoUS. A great way to meet lots of people .
  • Room monitors, guides, greeters - Join other conference registrants in helping make the conference a smooth and welcoming event by providing information, assistance and security in various parts of the conference.
  • Saturday Night Event Manager – works with auction team, fundraisers, caterer and music organizer to create a wonderful "Big Night" experience

    • Thank you for considering a donation of your time to make the 2010 conference a smoothly running and uplifting experience for everyone involved. We are depending on the enthusiastic support of volunteers to make this event a big success.

    Helping with the conference is a way to engage more deeply with members of the cohousing community. For the 2009 conference, we had 50 volunteer presenters and over 50 volunteers fulfilling the many small and large functions that make our conference an enjoyable experience. We need you!

    We are relying on volunteers during the conference for providing information, helping set up and clean up the exhibit space, auction and rooms, being a room monitor which includes set-up and introducing the presenter, and more. We also need people to help with a number of pre-conference organizing activities. Unfortunately the association is not able to offer discounts on registration for its many volunteers, although scholarships may still be available for first-time conference attendees.
