Newberry Place (Grand Rapids, MI) celebrates official groundbreaking
After four years of planning and preparation, members of Newberry Place: A Grand Rapids Cohousing Community celebrated their official groundbreaking. The ceremony was held November 13 at the site of the future 20-unit, urban cohousing community. Construction on the project had already begun in order to beat the impending winter, but that didn't stop more than 40 people participating in the event, including the 15 cohousing household members, the architect from Destigter-Smith Architects, General Contractor VanderKode Construction, Bank of Holland, the City of Grand Rapids, Neighborhood Stakeholders and several other key partners in the development. You can see pictures of the event and get more news on Newberry Place at its website.
