First Coho/US Webinar set for December

Live events, such as the upcoming Cohousing Conference are an excellent way for cohousing groups to gain valuable information and insights for creating healthy communities. However, for those who can’t wait – or simply can’t afford the trip – the Cohousing Association is pleased to offer another educational opportunity: online “webinars.”

For those unfamiliar with the concept, webinars are simply online presentations or meetings, usually with a certain degree of interactivity between the presenter and audience members. On-screen visuals are accompanied by live audio commentary by the presenter, either over the Internet or via a regular phone or speakerphone. We’ll be explaining all of the “how-tos” to those who register. The first Cohousing Webinar topic will be on “Financing Your Cohousing Project” – led by Katie McCamant. A well-known pioneer in the movement, Katie will bring a wealth of practical advice on the subjects of selecting and dealing with financial institutions. The webinar will be held on Monday, December 3 , at 8 pm Eastern time (7 Central, 6 Mountain and 5 pm Pacific time). The one-hour presentation will be followed by a 30-minute Q&A session. Participants can type in questions during the session. There will also be several live “polls” taken during the session, so everyone can get a better idea of the makeup of the audience, etc.

The cost of the event is $85. More than one person can sit at the computer, of course, so long as there is a speakerphone for multiple participants to listen in. This is a great opportunity to gain practical knowledge for your group, so register today.
