The email discussion group (Cohousing-L) is received by more than 2,000 email addresses in North America and abroad. Created in 1992, the list has been maintained by Fred H Olson ever since. Cohousing-L participants live in cohousing, are exploring cohousing, are forming new communities, or offer goods and services to the cohousing market. With hundreds of postings per month, you'll see people's questions, requests for advice, replies with advice and answers, anecdotes, and the priceless collective wisdom of the online cohousing community.

Everybody and anybody can sign up to Cohousing-L and all of its users may post any content on any topic, which is sent to the whole list. Coho/US (the Cohousing Association of the United States) provides no editorial screening. Members of the Coho/US staff, board and our many volunteers are frequent contributors. Coho/US urges Cohousing-L readers to be cautious about relying on the information.

The value of individual Cohousing-L postings varies greatly. Much of the information provided is very useful. Some posts are individual opinions and provide questionable advice - use at our own risk - again, anybody can post anything to the list.

Please use your own judgment and consider seeking second opinions from qualified parties before relying on the user-generated content posted to Cohousing-L - one way to get more input is by "asking the list" or mining the Coho-L archive. While the old adage, free advice is worth what you pay for it is not necessarily true, following "free" advice can be costly.
