Yulupa Cohousing is a 29-unit urban-infill cohousing community in Santa Rosa, CA, an hour north of San Francisco in Sonoma County. We moved in beginning July, 2005 and we occasionally have some turnover due to life changes, so contact us if you're looking for a studio up to a large four-bedroom home!

We are a very happy, diverse, intergenerational community. Excerpts from our Vision and Values include: “Our community's spirit grows out of profound respect for the natural world and our human connection to it. ... We seek to provide mutual support, inspiration, warmth and openness to each member in a way that nourishes many generations.” Other values include diversity, acceptance, privacy, learning, growth and innovation, communication, and environmental and ecologic consciousness.

This was a developer-driven cohousing development with Michael Black, architect, who has designed two other cohousing communities in Northern California. This is his most colorful, playful, and innovative design.

Common areas include a large common house with kitchen, dining room/multipurpose room, kids’ room, laundry room, and lounge, as well as a guest room, exercise room, and a workshop. A garden area is on site, and we are still working to lease an adjacent acre for gardening and open space activities.

Check our website at www.yulupacoho.com to view project design, floor plans, and to read current members’ bios, our values statement, and more.
