| Description: | Two energy-efficient townhouses are available at Burlington Cohousing East Village, a 32-unit community. Both available homes are new and have 1,111 square feet of living space plus a full basement. Each home has a mudroom, porch, large private deck, and upstairs and downstairs bathrooms. Unit #22 has 3 bedrooms and Unit #26 has 2 bedrooms and a den. Our common house is 5,000 square feet and includes a living room, kitchen, dining room, outdoor terrace, and laundry room. There are three to four common dinners per week. We're adjacent to the University of Vermont, Fletcher Allen Health Care, and a 68-acre nature preserve. Less than 1.5 miles to downtown Burlington, it's convenient to walk, bike, or take the free shuttle. We're located on 3.5 acres of land with community gardens and a small barn. Pets are allowed. Burlington Cohousing is located in a great setting – a progressive, small city in a beautiful part of the country. The biggest city in one of the most rural states in the country, Burlington is the center of Vermont's cultural life. Burlington hosts the week long Discover Jazz Festival every Spring, as well as the Winter and Summer Mozart Festivals. The Flynn Center is the regular venue for a wide range of music, dance, and dramatic performances. Located on the shore of Lake Champlain, Burlington offers a wide variety of recreational activities including swimming, sailing, sea kayaking, canoeing, waterskiing, scuba diving, fishing, and power boating. Situated between the Vermont Green Mountains and the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York, there are plenty of opportunities for hiking, backpacking, camping, whitewater paddling, and alpine and cross country skiing within an hour's drive of the city. |
