Sociocratic governance requires consensus decision-making for policy decisions. Policy decisions include setting goals, allocating funds, assigning people to roles and responsibilities, and determining how results will be measured.
Policy decisions set parameters for day-to-day operations. Operational decisions are generally made by the team leader according to policies with the team's consent. The values on which sociocratic governance is based are equivalence, effectiveness, and transparency.
