Aria Cohousing Community

Looking for community? Aria Cohousing is forming in Denver! Only 4 Homes Remain!

The Aria Cohousing Community is a multigenerational group of individuals and families who will live together in northwest Denver while supporting and enriching the lives of each other and the community beyond. Members are committed to sharing talents, resources and responsibilities, to living a healthy lifestyle, and to leaving a small footprint on the land. The Aria Cohousing Community is actively seeking new members who share these values and who aspire to become part of an inclusive, tight-knit, collaborative, eco-conscious community group.

Who we are
The Aria Cohousing Community values individuals’ unique characteristics and welcomes diversity. We range in age from early 20’s to upper 70’s. Some of us have partners, others are single. Most of us are long-time Colorado residents, but several are first-timers to the Mile-High City. We enjoy music, stone carving, volunteer work, singing, hiking, reading, dancing, knitting, cooking, yoga, traveling, woodwork and exploring the great outdoors. Aria Cohousers have diverse professional backgrounds. We are, or have been (some of us are happily retired!): healthcare providers, biology teachers, accountants, artists, HIV prevention/care managers, city planners, and more.

The Living Quarters
Aria Cohousers will reside in the former Marycrest Convent, which has served as a place of peace, devotion and reflection for the Sisters of St. Francis, with traditions dating to 1948. Restoration of the convent is currently underway and is slated for completion in the second quarter of 2017. When complete, the fully-renovated building will feature 28 for-sale condominiums (of which 8 are affordable) and will contain many wonderful homes and community spaces including a large kitchen and dining area, community room, library, guest suite, additional laundry facilities, and outdoor activity spaces. Furthermore, the convent has breathtaking views that overlook Colorado’s illustrious Rocky Mountains.

The Neighborhood
Aria Cohousing is part of the larger Aria Denver Community, a 17.5-acre transit-oriented, mixed-use, mixed-income development located in the Chaffee Park neighborhood, 4 miles north of downtown Denver. Aria Denver, in partnership with Regis University and the surrounding neighborhoods, has created the Cultivate Health Project to support the health and wellness of the entire community. Aria Cohousers are very excited about this project, which is funded primarily by The Colorado Health Foundation and includes infrastructure and programming that encourage an active lifestyle, increase access to healthy food, and offer integrated health services to neighborhood residents. We are excited about the one-acre production garden at Aria Denver, improvements to pedestrian and bicycle routes in the neighborhood, new adult fitness zones at Aria and Zuni Park, public art installations at nearby bus stops, and many more exciting projects to come.
