Daybreak Cohousing—Breaking Ground in Portland, Oregon in Spring 2008

Daybreak is a friendly, enthusiastic group of cohousers—individuals, couples and families from age 2 to 65 plus. We’re thrilled to break ground this spring on our multigenerational “dense urban village.” We come from varied backgrounds, aspiring to make conscious choices to live more ecologically and socially sustainable lives. Daybreak will have 30 flats and townhomes clustered around a large Common House, terrace, gardens and other outdoor spaces. Our older, established neighborhood (in one of the nation’s greenest cities) is just three miles from downtown, with easy access to light rail, bus lines and city bike routes. Restaurants, shops, a community college, schools, a farmers market and more are all nearby.
