Cohousing Mexican Style

Meet the founder and members of this community centered on healthy living, in a small town by Lake Chapala, a little ways south of Guadalajara, in Jalisco province.

Get a tour of the cohousing neighborhood, adjacent to a farm (EcoVillage-style) but walkable to the heart of a lively town known for its arts and culture.

Hear how folks there decided to look beyond their home countries and buy homes in a community that promotes healthy, sustainability, and personal growth, while maintaining privacy and autonomy.

Come early (9 AM PDT, 10 MDT, 11 CDT, noon EDT) if you want to be part of the monthly Cohousing Commons call with discussions in the wake of National Cohousing Week and the open houses last weekend. And then stick around in the following hour for a virtual open house for Rancho La Salud Village.

Join East Bay Cohousing at a community-crafted gathering to explore community, resilience, restoration, and regeneration both in the San Francisco Bay & Delta and beyond.  These are days of darkness & possibility, uncertainty & opportunity. We are calling doers and dreamers from all walks of life to join together and create the story of a thriving future for all life, where we live: the Bay Delta Bioregion, and its many beautiful watersheds and communities.  The Question: How do we better collaborate within and across communities and watersheds to co-create a thriving future for all life?  In true unconference fashion, the rest is up to you!  Participants will create the agenda. You can propose your own topic and there will be many stimulating sessions to join.  Sessions will cover a wide range of topics, such as local food systems, bioregionalism, land stewardship, social justice, solidarity economy, ecological restoration, regenerative practices, Indigenous leadership, storytelling, solarpunk, the "collapse", and cooperation.

Are you an older woman seeking intentional community and challenged by financial barriers? Maybe you're recently divorced, been a single mom or elder caregiver or living with a disability. All of these factors can mean, like the many older women I know, you have ALMOST enough, but not quite to make your community dream a reality. This is an open forum to discuss where we are in our search for community, what's possible, and how to creatively resource ourselves for a vibrant future in community.

Discover Heartwood Commons and why 30% of our neighbors have moved here from all across the country. We are told it's because we create community and connection even before they move here, and because they are attracted to Tulsa's affordable, low cost of living and our friendly, progressive culture. During our time together you'll meet some of our members, view our community and homes, get answers to your questions about available homes, and more. If you are serious about cohousing, be sure to check us out.
