Note from current owners:
This is the last remaining homesite for sale at Windekind Commons Vermont Cohousing, where 5 homes are already built/occupied and 3 others are under construction. This is the largest homesite in Windekind, which is located near Richmond, VT (in Huntington) and is about 40m from both Burlington and Montpelier. Our family of 4 bought this to build our primary family home back in 2021, but life had other plans and we moved further away from the area. Despite it being hard to let go of, we've decided to sell with the hope of finding some lovely family or other folks to join this awesome community that we dearly love (and have put our hearts into getting it off the ground these past few years!)
About the homesite and community:
Build your dream home on this large, build-ready, ski-in/ski-out, coveted lot in Windekind Commons, Vermont's expansive, large-lot, semi-rural, cohousing community. Sitting on a cul-de-sac, this 2.72 acre homesite, with infrastructure in place, abuts a 10 acre community meadow that's part of the 130+ acres of common land jointly owned with 8 other homesites at Windekind.
The common land features hiking trails, gardens, a pond, groomed ski trails, twin mountain brooks with waterfalls and direct access to the trail network of the both Camel's Hump Nordic Ski Area + Camels Hump State Forest. The lot enjoys direct access to the Jack Rabbit cross country ski trail, part of the broader Camel's Hump Nordic Ski Area + links up conveniently with Vermont's renowned Catamount Trail.
Drive up to your lot over an immaculately built arched stone bridge onto the expansive acreage and south eastern exposure potential. Falls are absolutely stunning. Sugar Maples paint the vibrant sugarbush. Wildlife, birds, + beautiful Norway Spruce abound.
At Windekind Commons Vermont Cohousing, working together with your neighbors to manage + provide stewardship of all of Windekind's land are cornerstones of everyday life. The community is conveniently located to everything the greater Burlington and Montpelier areas have to offer, with short commutes to schools, amenities, the mountains, and about 40 minutes away from Burlington and Montpelier proper, + several ski resorts including Stowe and Smugglers Notch.
