River Song Cohousing
River Song is a new multigenerational community in its first year of living together. We value relationships, expect personal growth work as part of community, and are dedicated to nurturing each other as neighbors while respecting individual needs and preferences.
River Song is located in Eugene, OR on 4 acres adjacent to the Willamette River and several miles of city park and multi-use trails. In the Common House we share meals in the large kitchen and dining room. Groups gather for crafts, music and child’s play in dedicated rooms. We welcome visitors in our 2 guest rooms, and gather for meetings and conversation around the wood fireplace in our cozy lounge. The mail room, shared laundry, and community workshop offer more opportunities for connection. The 28 townhouse units range in size from 2-bedroom stacked flats to 4-bedroom, 3-bath two-story units.
Community activities include 3 weekly common meals and organized opportunities for walking, indoor exercise, crafting, conversation and deeper sharing, and countless unplanned moments of sharing food and hugs.
Unit 113
This 4-bedroom, 3-bath townhouse is one of the most spacious units in River Song. It was originally purchased in December 2022.
You enter through an expansive front porch, ideal for outdoor dining, visiting with neighbors and even a porch swing. The first floor is open plan with kitchen, dining and living room, as well as a bedroom and full bath with shower for single-floor living if desired. The second floor includes a master suite with walk-through closet to a full bathroom with large shower, two additional bedrooms, a hall bathroom with tub/shower combo, and a laundry closet.
Large windows throughout and a skylight over the stairs keep the unit light and bright throughout the year. Ample storage includes linen closets upstairs and downstairs and a deep under-stair storage space that also houses the hot water heater. The first floor is heated and cooled by a minisplit system. In addition each bedroom and bathroom has a dedicated heater for that space. The kitchen is equipped with all new stainless steel appliances, including an induction range.
This unit is located at a junction of community pathways such that much of the community walks by on their way to their cars and to the common house. When using the sink, we often wave at neighbors passing by or smile at small children on tricycles. While central to the community in that way, the unit is also on the edge of the property with views of the neighborhood and wooded path to the river from the partially covered back porch.
