An intentional village within a village, Bristol Village Cohousing is situated in this hidden gem of Vermont, the town of Bristol. We’re an intergenerational, family-friendly community that welcomes diversity. Our community is home to 16 households that are dedicated to environmental sustainability. We believe in the importance of community and use Sociocracy for decision-making so that everyone has a voice. We come together for a monthly community meeting, we share jobs and many meals a month. We celebrate one another and being together with birthdays, yoga classes, music jams, game nights, and solstices around our stone circle and a roaring fire, with hot cider and cocoa.

Our members share 2 historic barns, a wood shop, community gardens, an art studio, and a common house with a large kitchen/cafe area, game room, exercise room and guest rooms. The HOA fees are $388/month, which covers exterior maintenance (studs out) and all-in insurance. Because the homes are built with super thick insulation, triple pane windows and insulating shades the electricity bills are surprisingly low. The homes are remarkably comfortable and economical.

Outside, you can sit on the front porch, overlooking the common green and flower gardens and watch the kids play. Behind you is a mountain that offers spectacular hiking trails, vistas of surrounding counties, Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks. You can mark the seasons with the gorgeous natural splendor that never gets old. Within walking distance are stores, both elementary and high schools, doctors, dentists, the river and rolling water falls, coffee shops, a bookstore, restaurants, a yoga studio and the farmers market in the town green, complete with playground.
