Description:

INTRODUCTION:
We are an umbrella group for folks pursuing intergenerational and/or senior Cohousing. We hope to spawn more than one core group in Central Ohio and help them turn their aspirations into reality. We find the Coho community across the US and Canada open and willing to support our efforts with their resources and experience. We have engaged in workshops, significant research, and visits to existing Cohousing communities. We invite all who are interested in our pursuit to come to our meetings and see if our plans mesh with yours. We welcome all burning souls and inquiries that come our way, and hope to meet you at our bi-monthly meetings (normally 1st & 3rd Saturdays of the month).

OUR VISION STATEMENT:
Central Ohio Cohousing pursues a model of intentional living that reflects inclusivity, diversity and sustainability. As an incubator of this initiative, we foster compassion and respect as the building blocks for a caring and collaborative eco-neighborhood.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
Central Ohio Cohousing is dedicated to four main values:

• INCLUSION: We welcome all who echo our sentiment of compassion and respect and value collaborative living arrangements and social connections in a supportive, caring neighborhood that nurtures diversity and mutual understanding.

• SANCTUARY: We offer a place of refuge for people and animals alike that embodies a serene and safe haven for all who believe in and foster the power of unity, while accepting the wants and needs of each individual.

• ECO-CONSCIENCE: We aspire to being kind stewards to our surroundings with a small environmental footprint but a large heart-print, so we may live in harmony with each other and with nature.

• SUSTAINABILITY: We pursue design and construction principles for individual homes and common areas that are guided by Best Business Practices – both prudent and inventive – to ensure the longevity of our cohousing communities.
