Description:

Hager Homestead is a friendly, active, engaged community who together are building the first 55+ cohousing community in New England.
We moved in to our first set of 7 homes starting Valentine’s Day 2024 ~
Our second set of 15 homes will start closings the day after Labor Day ~
We expect our last neighbor to move in by Halloween! No tricks, only treats!

We are excited to share that we have ONE HOME AVAILABLE NOW! A 2-bedroom ground floor walkout, facing the meadow!
Sign up for the next Info Session on our website (https://www.hagerhomestead.org/events) and subscribe to our newsletter for the latest news.

We like to bike & hike, chant & meditate, swim & kayak, cook & preserve, write & paint, volunteer & advocate, sew & quilt, fix & build, play & sing, and garden, garden, garden.

Our physical space is on the main drag of Littleton, Massachusetts, about 40 minutes northwest of Boston (the “MetroWest” area). Though Littleton is a small (pop.10K), historical farming town, it is on the commuter rail line into Boston, so it’s a bit rural and a bit suburban. Our new residents have been delighted with the proximity to I495, which brings the entire area close by when we want that. Littleton boasts a number of farm stands for fans of real food, and the town has over 300 acres of conservation land, including 12 of our 15 acres! This beautiful property is located next to the town hall, the new library, a new senior center underway, and close to many amenities.

There are 26 units clustered on 2.5 acres near the street, with the rest of the meadow, pond, and woods preserved by a conservation easement. The homes are single-story, one- and two-bedroom flats, most with a porch or balcony. We will be renovating an existing house for use as our common house and a post-and-beam barn for a workshop and bike-storage and maybe some contra-dancing!
