Why I'm interested:

Howdy, I’m Molly!

I’ve seen firsthand how systems can fail, and I know how powerful community can be in stepping in where institutions fall short. I’m looking for a space where people genuinely look out for each other, where we build interdependence instead of relying on charity or hierarchy.

I have a degree in Public Administration and Nonprofit Management with dual studies in Sociology and Social Psychology. I also trained in Nonviolent Communication, which helps me navigate difficult conversations with clarity and care. My background in education (specifically working in South Central LA) and my focus on policy has taught me how slow change can be, but also how quickly things can shift when people come together.

I’m passionate about mental health awareness and de-stigmatizing mental illness. I believe stable, supportive communities have a huge impact on people’s well-being, and I want to be part of creating that space.

I’ve also done gardening work for neighbors and worked for a women-owned landscaping company, Weeding Woman, and I’d love to continue expanding my knowledge in sustainable gardening and permaculture. Growing food and supporting local ecosystems are things I care about.

I’m looking for a cohousing or intentional community in Northern California, Oregon, or Washington that values:
• Mutual aid and economic justice
• Interdependence and shared responsibility
• Mental health awareness and open communication
• Sustainability and permaculture
• Open to Spiritual communities (I am a big fan of Ram Dass)

I bring skills in digital marketing, project management, and community building, plus experience in education, advocacy, and nonprofit work. I also love taking care of animals, so if you’ve got pets or livestock, I’m your person.

I never want to box myself in. So, I’m remaining open and flexible for opportunities to arise I could never imagine that will be great opportunities to learn.

Thank you,
Molly Williams

More Info About Me:

I’m originally from Nashville, TN, but I’ve spent about five years in Los Angeles and am now moving to Portland to start a new chapter. I first moved to LA in 2018 to teach 8th Grade ELA in South LA, with the goal of transitioning into policy work. My background is in Political Science: Nonprofit Management & Public Administration, with a minor in Sociology.

While much of my career has been in nonprofit and government work, I now work full-time in Digital Marketing as an SEO Specialist & Project Manager at Ignite Visibility (a San Diego-based agency, but I work remotely). Before that, I spent about six years in specialty coffee in leadership and development—I still love making fun recipes and sharing them when I can!

Why I’m Moving to Portland

After returning to LA in 2024, I faced unrelenting obstacles as a single, working woman trying to reestablish myself. The cost of living, lack of accessible housing, and increasing safety concerns made it clear that LA isn’t a sustainable long-term home for me.

Portland, on the other hand, offers the community-driven, creative, and nature-filled lifestyle I’m looking for. I’m excited to find a home where I can work remotely, be part of a like-minded community, and enjoy a better quality of life for myself and my pets.

About My Pets
I have two small, well-behaved animals:
• Elliott – A 7-month-old Border Heeler (Border Collie/Blue Heeler mix, under 15 lbs). He’s in training to be an emotional support animal and has been doing great with his socialization, especially with cats!

• Baker – A small, spayed rescue cat (under 8 lbs) who is truly an angel.

I take being a responsible pet owner seriously—ensuring they never cause disruptions, get plenty of exercise, and adapt well to shared living spaces. I work remotely and often take Elliott to parks or work from different spots to keep things fresh.

Roommate & Living Style
I’ve lived in a variety of roommate situations and on my own in Nashville, Chattanooga, San Jose, and LA. My approach to living with others is:

✔️ Grounded & Respectful – I communicate with compassion and curiosity and value open dialogue.
✔️ Considerate & Clean – I make sure shared spaces stay comfortable for everyone.
✔️ Balanced & Fun – I’ve been in therapy since 18, so I prioritize resilience and adaptability, but I also don’t take life too seriously!
My Interests
• Music – I listen to a wide range of genres but lean toward indie and cross-genre artists.
• Movies – Big A24 fan, but I love all kinds of films.
• Nature & Community – Excited to explore Portland’s outdoor spaces and creative communities!
• Drawing, Comedy, and Nonfiction – I like to draw and art journal as well as have done improv in the past and love the art of comedy. I do read but primarily read nonfiction social-science related topics but not always, always.

A Reliable Tenant & Excited for a New Chapter

I’ve been a responsible tenant since I was 18, both alone and with roommates. I’m looking for a home where I can settle in, be a great addition to the space, and enjoy all that Portland has to offer.

Thanks for reading! Let me know if you have any questions—I’d love to chat!
