Description:
We are forming BURNS VILLAGE & FARM, a multi-generational cohousing village and agrihood with 25-30 homes and a small farm about 30 minutes west of Nashville. The farm will be managed by professionals who will provide fresh organically and sustainable produced food in exchange for community support. We have a contract on 15 acres of agricultural and wooded land, with landowners who are very supportive of our vision. We also have contracts with a cohousing architectural team and two cohousing development consultants (Katie McCamant and Shelly Parks). We are planning a community that reflects our shared values of respect for the land and each other, accessible homes, and diversity in our community members. Our Core Group meets weekly, and hosts site visits, virtual and in-person gatherings, and reading/discussion groups. We anticipate a sustainable, eco-friendly village with clustered homes, a wooded trail to a beautiful creek, and several acres of orchards, vegetables & fruit, including blueberries, Asian pears, and more! We held our first Schematic Design workshop with our architect Jack Wilbern May 13-14, 2023 and now have a plan for site development! Come see us!
