Description:
Wise Acres Cooperative Association, established in 1990, is a thriving multi-generational community in the rural waterfront town of Indianola, Washington. The original 9 home sites are individually owned and members share 14 acres of forested greenbelt, a common house, gardens, orchards, well, and roads collectively.
Many of the original nine lots have incorporated creative rental opportunities including a yurt, a standalone small home, and several one-bedroom apartments incorporated into existing homes. We share community meals on Mondays and Wednesdays and have regular community meetings most Wednesday evenings. We practice consensus decision-making.
Wiseacres embodies its original intention of sharing resources, raising children together, and nurturing the land.
