Thank you for allowing Organic Transit to show the CoHousing Conference attendees our ELF. If you didn’t get a chance to see the ELF, it is the solar/pedal powered, battery assist recumbent bike. The ELF has a top electric speed of 20 mph, 500 pound payload carrying capacity, weather protection through its encapsulated shell, and efficiency of 1800 miles per gallon!
You can’t help but smile while you drive the ELF as it is a fun experience. But more importantly, this vehicle can fit nicely into a CoHousing environment as a shared vehicle. An ELF share program is easy to implement among a group of neighbors looking to co-own a commuting or “errand running” type of vehicle like the ELF. This idea resonated with many of the CoHousing attendees especially because the ELF is considered a bike in most US States so no insurance, permitting or license requirements.
