Henning is a founding member of the first cohousing community in Regina, Saskatchewan, Prairie Spruce
Commons. He is active in the Canadian cohousing movement and is on the committee for the Canadian
cohousing conference. Henning was a Business Analyst and Project Manager in Regina. He has a long
history of volunteer work with the City of Regina and was responsible for the creation of Bike to Work
Regina (BikeRegina.org). Henning is president of FRAG, the flatland regional association of gamers, a
local board gaming group.
Henning was originally from Denmark and though it is with some difficulty, he has been able to read
Danish cohousing material such as the 25-year anniversary book from Saettedammen, often considered
the first cohousing community. Reading the accounts of those first founders, with their reasons for
seeking a new way of living, it is amazing to see where we have changed and where we are still following
in their footsteps. Ask me about what Saettedammen does that I found shocking and interesting.
