Caring for land is a key piece of sustainability for some communities, particularly if their property contains wetlands or other protected landscapes.
All types of people can benefit from the value of cohousing and some communities choose a particular population to share a life with. A community may focus on foster children, or veterans for example. Community is a fabulous place for neurodiverse individuals or others with special needs. Typically these communities make some accommodations that address the unique needs of their focus group while also maintaining the level of independence that is typical in cohousing. Any specialty care is generally arranged by each individual.
