Parents know it takes a village to raise a child, and in cohousing they have one. “Go out to play.” is a great option for even fairly young children. Planned and impromptu playdates happen without anyone driving to a friend’s house. Siblings who tire of each other find other kids to play with or space to spread out in common areas. Carpooling to activities or bringing group activities to the community can reduce the feeling of always being on the run. Best of all, there is a sense of community support knowing you aren’t the only one who cares about your kids.
