Rural Cohousing
Rural cohousing tends to be more spread out and to include farming.
Many rural communities grow much of their own food on organic farms, which they work together. They may also work with a professional farmer to run a Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.
Homes are more spread out than some cohousing communities, but are still clustered on a small portion of the land to maximize interactions between neighbors. The common house is typically a freestanding building where neighbors gather for common meals and other activities.
