Shepherd Village is a close-knit cohousing community of 30 households just a short walk from downtown Shepherdstown. We are active adults, mostly 55+ but all ages are welcome. As a Shepherd Village resident, you’ll have access to all shared community activities and facilities — gardens, walking paths and our 4,000 sq.-ft. Common House, used for group dinners, movie nights and other events. The Common House has a large kitchen and dining room, guest rooms, fireplace, reading nooks, TV room, exercise room, large washer/dryer, wi-fi, patio with gas grills and a lovely goldfish pond with fountain, just steps from the unit.
Our property includes 10 acres of partially wooded conservation land with walking trails, a community garden area with garden center/greenhouse and fire pit, a fully equipped woodworking shop, dog run, chicken coop, garages and carports. All residents are invited to serve in collectively caring for our community.
