Hope Family Village began as a group of families caring for loved ones with diagnosed mental health conditions who quickly discovered a common interest – the critical need for innovative, affordable, community housing options. The vision to create a community-centric collaborative offering acceptance, housing, and sustainable support for both the caregivers and the loved ones has become a reality. The Commonwealth of Virginia has set aside 25 acres of state surplus property to develop Hope Family Village in partnership with local government and our community mental health organization. Our village will be a 25 family residential community with a Common House, outdoor recreation areas, walking trails, and community gardens. We are currently working through the development phase and hope to break ground in Summer, 2021 with the first homes available in 2022.
