Why I'm interested:

I lived in co-housing in college and loved it. I am an empty-nester and soon to be widowed. I know..very sad. Part of my coping is making sure I have a life beyond my deep loved one. I am a very social, active, adventurous and alive person with a desire and need for loving connections, committed relationships, and being of service. I value co-governance and modified consensus…but also just hanging out together with my buddies. The best part of my co-housing life was the sharing of meals, and having people to have fun with! I own property that is already perfect for co-housing in Ferndale, Washington, just outside of Bellingham and close to Vancouver BC. Four houses and a cabin. I have a vision of forming both a residential community and an extended non-residential community that joins us in celebrations of life, eco-consciousness, and compassionate mindfulness.

Other information:

My first desire is to find others who have the interest to help form a community on the land I already have: one acre with orchard, lavender field, communal garden area, fire circle, meditation garden, three houses and a cabin, spa, and surrounding deck wired for bands, in a park like setting. You can see pictures by putting in address and saying “for rent”. I think it is up on Redfin still… I also have another large 4 bedroom house 5 minutes away, which could allow us more residential members in time. The Main house, a three bedroom with LARGE gourmet kitchen and living room, a second house with one bedroom, and the cabin and bathhouse, are all available for moving in end of Summer, 2024. The other one bedroom plus office plus the four bedroom house are available whenever tenants next vacate. If I do not find others to share in this vision, then I will be looking for co-housing opportunities in California, most likely.
