Description:
Tammany Commons is a community of diverse talents and life experiences. We believe that learning and teaching are lifelong pursuits. We want to build more sustainably, making use of renewable and recycled materials. We want to live more responsibly, using composting, recycling and grey water for irrigation wherever possible. We want to live more personally, with more connection to our neighbors. We want our young people to learn that arts, education and service are ends in themselves. We want our elders to feel valued and useful in sharing their talents and wisdom. We intend that our elders age-in-place for as long as possible. We imagine spontaneous social gatherings in our shared spaces. We seek opportunities to participate with our greater neighborhood in social and enrichment events.
