Free Screening of Within Reach Alongside Cohousing Open House Day April 30
The Fellowship for Intentional Community (FIC) is generously offering a free screening of the movie Within Reach in conjunction with the April 30th National Cohousing Open House Day. The film is a “thank you” from the FIC to those communities who are participating!
Within Reach is a film documenting one resilient couple’s 6,500 mile bicycling journey across the United States visiting intentional communities (including cohousing) and examples of sustainability along the way. I’ve seen this film and would welcome seeing again – it is terrific!
The offer is available to every community signed up to participate in National Cohousing Open House Day. If you haven’t signed up, please do, click here!
If your community is participating and you would like a free DVD or digital download, please email Mira Brisk mirabepeace@gmail.com with your name, community, mailing address and email. You will be supplied with the film – and possibly some free Communities magazines – in time for April 30.
More benefits: the FIC is collaborating with Coho/US to get the word out to attract even more people to the Open Houses. If you let us know by Sunday, March 13 that you will be showing the film, your community will be included in March 19 eNews promotions from the FIC, delivering to 40,000.
All the FIC is asking is that the film be shown sometime the day or night of Open House Day. Communities are asked to announce that the Fellowship for Intentional Community and Within Reach are donating the film to thank communities for their participation in Open House Day, and mention that people can find the film with plenty of other community and cohousing focused films, books, and magazines at ic.org.

A poster is attached. Here’s a movie brief:
Mandy and Ryan gave up their corporate jobs and houses to travel thousands of miles in search of a new home, while also looking within.
One of the most important questions facing the world today is “Can humans live sustainably?” This film answers this in a resounding way – Yes!
Meet people from around the country showing that there might just be a better way we can live together on this planet. It is not only possible, it is already underway!
