Even Better for 2021
Throughout 2020 forming cohousing communities have been enjoying the benefits of the Community Launch program with CohoUS. We’re making it even better for 2021.
Jennie Lindberg of Sunnyside Village Cohousing describes her experience with the program this way: I want to give a big “shout out” to the Community Launch program at CohoUS. As a small group of enthusiastic people who have a dream of living in cohousing, trying to make the dream a reality is daunting. There are so many things we have to learn that we haven’t the slightest idea how to do: communicate with cities about zoning, locate an appropriate builder to name just a few. CohoUS has been there every step of the way to support us. The conferences, webchats and blogs are an enormous source of valuable information. The Community Launch program is designed to help us learn and to help promote our community. What we need most right now are members, and the Directory and Classified Ads have been the primary way people are finding their way to us. I highly recommend the Community Launch program to groups that are just starting to get serious about forming a cohousing community.
As staff at CohoUS, my favorite part of the Community Launch program is the opportunity it gives me to connect with forming groups. I love their energy and enthusiasm. Even more, I love the ways I get to help them share their message with the cohousing world. I get to hear their stories as we set up their Community Launch program. Then throughout the year I think of them as we offer a new service, schedule a conference or need a new blog post. I get to use those services of CohoUS to also share their stories with the broader cohousing community, including potential members.
A big part of CohoUS’s mission is to bring more cohousing to the US. Community Launch is one of the most powerful ways we do that in partnership with the burning souls and founders who are the real heroes of the cohousing movement. We hope you will partner with us too. Find all the details here.
